Missing-persons field work is a licensed-PI service. We refer.
We do not perform private investigation field work in Florida. When a missing-persons matter calls for a licensed PI, we coordinate with a Florida private investigator in our network who handles missing and locate work. They run the case under their license, with their contract and their report. Quinn coordinates the introduction; the licensed PI handles the case directly with you.
A blunt note before anything else: if your person is missing under circumstances that suggest danger, file a police report first. We will help you understand the path between police, NamUs, and a private investigator, but the police report comes first when safety is in question.
How the referral works
- You contact us. Honest scoping conversation about what is known, what has been tried, and what the realistic path forward is.
- We help you place the case. Sometimes the right next step is police, sometimes NamUs, sometimes a licensed PI, sometimes a combination.
- We introduce you to the right licensed FL PI. A partner who handles missing and locate work and will tell you the truth about probability before taking your retainer.
- The partner engages you directly. Their license, their contract, their report.
What we do, what the partner does
- Witness (Quinn): consultation, scoping, partner introduction, and digital forensics, including last-known device activity, account access patterns, social-media history, and OSINT reconstruction. When the case has a digital trail, we work it.
- Licensed PI partner: investigator-database research, witness interviews, field locate work, scene investigation, court-records pulls, and the formal investigative report under their license.

Families looking for an estranged or missing relative. Adopted individuals trying to locate biological family. Long-term cold-case families seeking a private review of work police have already done. Beneficiary-search matters in estate administration. We will be honest if your matter is better handled by police, NamUs, or a non-profit search team, and point you toward them.
Why a referral, not direct delivery
Florida reserves licensed-PI activity for Class C licensees. The partners we refer to know how to work with police, with NamUs, with attorneys, and with families. We coordinate the introduction. The partner does the work.

Pricing
Pricing is set by the licensed PI partner and varies with the matter. Short-fuse adult locate cases start in the low thousands. Long-term cold cases with travel, witness interviews, and records research run materially higher. The partner provides a written estimate with milestone caps before the retainer. We do not mark up partner fees. Digital forensics, when added, is billed separately under our own engagement letter.
